Restaurant roundup: Longtime steakhouse offering meal kits, chocolate shop opens second store

Local chocolate shop opens second store

Chocolatier Annie Rupani founded Cacao & Cardamom in 2012 working out of rented space to cater events and fill internet orders. She debuted her first brick-and-mortar location two years later and has recently opened a second.

Cacao & Cardamom is leasing 580 square feet at the River Oaks Shopping Center, according to a press release from Weingarten Realty (NYSE: WRI), the developer of River Oaks Shopping Center. The new store is currently hosting soft opening events at 2013 W. Gray St. and plans to host a grand opening soon, per the Houston Chronicle and confirmed by an employee who answered the phone at the first location, 5000 Westheimer Road, suite #602, which is across the street from the Galleria mall.

The first store is about 1,400 square feet, and both locations offer luxurious chocolate. The River Oaks Shopping Center store’s selection includes drinking chocolates, coffee, tea and bon-bons made with ingredients liked masala, fennel and cardamom as well as filled with a house-made fruit puree.
